View of Clapham Junction, through Chateau Woods (background), and Bellewaarde Lake and Hooge (right). On the far right a group of unidentified soldiers is gathered near drum barrels and piles of soil. Other soldiers are in the background near a light railway line and a horsedrawn ambulance. Numerous shell holes mark the area. During the Third Battle of Ypres this area was littered with derailed and smashed carts from the light railways and destroyed pill boxes.
